Financial Analyst/Associate, Development

Our client creates unique opportunities to build Community. Their retail and mixed-use portfolio comprises 25 million square feet in 110 plus properties and it manages over 15 million square for others located up and down the east coast. Their properties represent the full range of retail formats including neighborhood centers, power centers and enclosed regional malls. The company is re-developing their properties into unique places that are uniquely tailored to meet the desires of the local market creating place-driven local and neighborhood shopping centers, as well as, immersive mixed-use environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop proforma models for development and leasing opportunities of varying levels of complexity

• Maintain proforma models and ad hoc project scope changes throughout the life cycle of the development project

• Coordinate with developers and construction managers to incorporate cost budgets and development schedules in the project proforma

• Coordinate with leasing representatives to incorporate revenue assumptions in the project proforma

• Gather information and coordinate with all operational departments (i.e. development, construction, tenant coordination, leasing, and property management) in developing financial analytical tools and in updating management during regular meetings

• Produce regular and ad hoc reporting deliverables in coordination with accounting, development, construction, and tenant coordination departments

• Assist developer in drafting memos and financial exhibits to request approval for potential development opportunities to management

• Provide general support for real estate transactions and special projects as needed

• Evaluate potential new development sites for zoning, market and financial feasibility.

• Coordinate with team members to optimize processes for maximum efficiency and efficacy throughout the life cycle of the project

Job Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of and interest in real estate finance

• Ability to read and analyze lease documents

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate both internally and externally

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and meet hard deadlines

• Excellent time management skills

• Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Post-graduate degree in finance, real estate or business preferred

• Two years’ real estate financial analysis experience required

• Experience with Excel required; Argus or MRI preferred

• Strong written communication skills required

Base salary 140-150 + bonus
