Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

Our Client is a fully-integrated, self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust that owns and operates a high-quality retail real estate portfolio.

Role

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting. This position will take an active role in ensuring that significant transactions are properly accounted for and disclosed under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and rules for public companies set forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). In that regard, this role will assist with:

  • Prepare and analyze SEC filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) with XBRL tagging, Press Release, Supplemental Report, and any other ad-hoc reporting forms that may be required
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations, FP&A, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy of external reporting deliverables
  • Conduct research on technical GAAP accounting issues and material business issues and prepare well-written memoranda ensuring the appropriate accounting conclusions are reached
  • Provide schedules and support for internal quarterly financial statement reporting package
  • Ensure compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Interact and coordinate with internal audit team
  • Assist with the implementation of Climate Disclosure Rules
  • Build and sustain relationships with cross functional teams to ensure complex arrangements are properly and efficiently implemented
  • Coordinate with external audit firm during annual audit processes
  • Other accounting and reporting related projects as needed

Requirements

  • CPA or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in public accounting working with SEC registered companies

Base Pay Range $110,000 to $120,000.
