Ellen & John were excellent mentors. I did as they asked and learned the business and terminology. While it took a while to make my first placement, they still invested their time in me as long as I was doing what they asked of me in return. I worked for Marcus & Associates for 3 years. I joined in early 2009 when the job market was horrendous and very few companies were hiring, especially through search firms. Marcus & Associates had plenty of open positions with top companies because of their long-standing relationships. So, even in a down market, I was able to make money and survive until the market turned. John and Ellen are fun to work for. They truly cared about me and we still keep in touch. I now have my own search firm, recruiting in a different market, but I learned many important recruitment lessons from them – things I still use every day.
